Mexico Here I Come!

I'm finally Elder Janis!  I have been waiting for this day all my life, pre-mortal life included.  Having just been set apart as a representative of the Lord, I feel ready more than ever to take upon me the responsibilities and make the sacrifice required of a missionary.  I know that the next two years won't be easy, but I am determined to show the Lord he can trust me.  I am resolute in my commitment to be exactly obedient to the mission rules in such a way that the Spirit will be with me every second of every day for the next two years.

The companionship of the Spirit is a gift from our Heavenly Father that I never want to take for granted.  I have found peace and comfort in the guidance of the Holy Ghost and I know that I will never want to be without it while serving the Lord.  Recently, I have had certain experiences that have taught me that Satan will stop at nothing to prevent me from having the Spirit's guidance.  Throughout my mission, Satan will try even harder to hinder the work of the Lord that I will be preforming expanding on the importance of my obedience.  I need to live my life as a missionary so that I can tell Satan and his degrading temptations to get behind me.

Sitting here right now with the promises and blessings of a set apart missionary, I already feel the need to live the even higher law missionaries are called to live.  I leave for the MTC on Wednesday, July 21st and look forward to being valiant to my testimony of the Savior.  I am excited to express my love of the Savior and be a never-wavering witness of His divine mission to provide us with the Atonement.  Even now the Lord is preparing the people of Mexico to hear the gospel and I will teach them!
